Hero Siege S10 Starter Class Guide

Hero Siege S10 Starter Class Guide

Posted on September 1, 2026

Starting a new character in Hero Siege Season 10 can be a little overwhelming. There are plenty of classes to choose from, but four names stand out for players looking for a strong first character: Marksman, Pirate, Plague Doctor, and Stormweaver.

All four can clear content, but they do not feel the same during the campaign. If you are completely new to Hero Siege, the easiest choice is not necessarily the class with the highest endgame damage.

Here is how these four starters compare in Season 10.

Marksman – The Safest Beginner Pick

If you have never played Hero Siege before, Marksman is probably the easiest class to recommend.

The biggest advantage is simple: you can stay at range while dealing consistent damage. You do not need to constantly stand inside enemy packs, which gives new players more time to learn movement, positioning, equipment, and boss mechanics.

The current Season 10 leveling route commonly starts with Frag Grenade and transitions into Gunner Drone around level 30. This gives Marksman useful area damage early while providing a clear path toward a stronger endgame setup.

The downside is survivability. Marksman can feel fragile when enemies get through your defenses, so positioning still matters.

Best for: First-time players, ranged gameplay, simple progression.

Pirate – Best for Fast Progression

Pirate is a great choice if your main goal is to move through the campaign quickly.

Its strength is strong clearing combined with respectable single-target damage. Season 10 changes also improved the physical Pirate option, making Cannonball-style setups particularly interesting for players who want a straightforward offensive build.

Compared with Marksman, Pirate can feel more aggressive. You are often closer to enemies and need to pay more attention to positioning.

That makes Pirate slightly less forgiving for someone learning the game from scratch, but experienced ARPG players may prefer it because of its faster pace.

Best for: Fast leveling, aggressive gameplay, experienced ARPG players.

Plague Doctor – Best Low-Gear Option

Plague Doctor is arguably the most interesting choice for players who do not want to depend heavily on expensive gear at the beginning of the season.

Its leveling setup is particularly beginner-friendly. Plague of Rats becomes available early and provides a simple way to deal with groups, while Crematus is useful during the first few levels.

The class also benefits from flexible damage options, which makes it easier to continue progressing when your drops are not perfect.

For players trying to build up their seasonal resources before spending heavily on gear, this is a major advantage. Efficient early farming also makes it easier to accumulate Hero Siege Gold while developing your character naturally.

Best for: Low-budget starts, solo players, steady progression.

Stormweaver – Excellent Clear, Slightly Less Beginner-Friendly

Stormweaver remains attractive if your favorite part of an ARPG is watching entire groups disappear at once.

Its mobility and spell-based clearing make it a strong farming option, especially when moving between packs. However, recent changes to its teleport behavior have made the class a little less straightforward than it used to be for brand-new players.

Stormweaver can still be very powerful, but it rewards players who already understand positioning and movement. Boss encounters can also feel different from its excellent pack-clearing experience.

Best for: Fast map clearing, experienced casters, players who enjoy mobility.

Which One Should New Players Choose?

For a completely new player, my order would be:

  1. Marksman – Best overall beginner choice
  2. Plague Doctor – Best forgiving low-gear option
  3. Pirate – Best fast-progression option
  4. Stormweaver – Best for experienced caster players

That does not mean Stormweaver is weak or that Pirate is difficult. The difference is how much each class asks from the player during the first character.

Marksman gives you a comfortable ranged playstyle and a straightforward leveling path. Plague Doctor is excellent when you want strong progression without relying on expensive equipment. Pirate is the better pick if speed matters more than safety, while Stormweaver is ideal for players who already know how to handle fast caster gameplay.

If this is your first character in Hero Siege Season 10, start with Marksman unless you strongly prefer another playstyle.

If you want something more forgiving when your equipment is weak, choose Plague Doctor. If you already have ARPG experience and want to push through the campaign quickly, Pirate is worth considering.

Stormweaver is still a strong choice, but it makes more sense as a second character or for players who already understand Hero Siege’s movement and combat systems.

Once you have a solid character and understand the loot system, you can decide whether farming for upgradesor looking for cheap Hero Siege Items makes sense for your next stage of progression.
