Farming Guide on Where to Find the Rarest Elden Ring Items

Posted on May 7, 2025

Elden Ring is filled with a vast array of powerful gear, talismans, and consumables that can greatly enhance your journey through the Lands Between. Among these are some of the rarest Elden Ring items, which are often hidden away in remote areas, guarded by fearsome enemies, or dropped at low rates. This guide is here to help players—whether newcomers or veterans—farm these valuable treasures efficiently and reliably.

Understanding Rare Items in Elden Ring

Before diving into farming locations, it’s important to understand what qualifies as rare. Rare Elden Ring items typically fall into one of the following categories:

  • Unique weapons or armor sets
  • Powerful talismans with unique effects
  • Low-drop-rate materials or consumables
  • Quest-related or hidden artifacts

These items often define build paths, offer gameplay advantages, or are simply sought after by collectors and completionists.

1. Albinauric Mask – Mohgwyn Palace

One of the rarest pieces of headgear, the Albinauric Mask offers unique Arcane scaling. It can be found by farming the Albinauric enemies in Mohgwyn Palace, which is accessible through the Consecrated Snowfield or via Varre’s questline. These enemies drop the mask at a low rate, so be prepared to spend time with a high Arcane build and item discovery gear.

2. Sword of Night and Flame – Caria Manor

While not as obscure as others, the Sword of Night and Flame remains one of the most sought-after weapons for hybrid Intelligence/Faith builds. It is located in a locked room within Caria Manor, accessed by navigating the rooftops. Though not a farmable drop, its hidden location makes it rare for many players to find on their first playthrough.

3. Cleanrot Armor Set – Aeonia Swamp

The Cleanrot Knights in the Scarlet Rot–infested Aeonia Swamp drop the Cleanrot Armor Set. This set offers excellent resistance and is valued for both its aesthetic and defensive qualities. Due to its low drop rate, consider equipping the Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot and the Silver Scarab Talisman to improve item discovery during your farm.

4. Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone – Various Locations

Used to max out special weapons, the Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone is incredibly rare. Only a few exist per playthrough, and they are typically guarded by powerful bosses or tied to quest completion. Farming them is not possible, but knowing where they are is key to upgrading your best weapons.

Some known locations include:

  • A chest behind a hidden wall in Miquella’s Haligtree
  • Reward for completing Latenna’s questline
  • On the corpse in Crumbling Farum Azula

5. Envoy’s Long Horn – Haligtree

The Envoy’s Long Horn is a powerful weapon with bubble-based ranged attacks. It is dropped by the Large Oracle Envoys in Miquella’s Haligtree. The drop rate is infamously low, so repeated farming may be required. Equip item discovery boosts and be patient—it can take dozens of kills to acquire.

6. Noble’s Slender Sword – Altus Plateau

Known as one of the best straight swords due to its long reach and low weight, the Noble’s Slender Sword drops from Wandering Nobles. The best place to farm it is near the Altus Highway Junction. The drop rate is extremely low, so farming with high Arcane and using discovery boosts is recommended.

Tips for Efficient Farming

To make your farming sessions more productive, keep these tips in mind:

  • Increase your Item Discovery stat using the Silver Scarab talisman and Silver-Pickled Fowl Foot consumables.
  • Use weapons or spells with wide area-of-effect to quickly clear mobs.
  • Respect enemy patterns and respawn timers by resting at Sites of Grace and optimizing routes.
  • Use Spirit Ashes or co-op partners to speed up farming in challenging zones.

Consider the Elden Ring Items Store (In-Game and Community Options)

While Elden Ring encourages discovery and persistence, some players may turn to an Elden Ring items store, whether in-game merchants or trusted community trading hubs. Vendors like Patches or Twin Maiden Husks offer select rare items. Additionally, community-run marketplaces on Reddit or Discord servers can be a valuable resource for players who prefer trading over farming. However, always exercise caution and avoid any form of unauthorized third-party transactions that could jeopardize your account.

Farming rare Elden Ring items can be time-consuming, but it’s a rewarding pursuit for those seeking to unlock the game’s full potential. From hidden legendary weapons to elusive armor sets, knowing where and how to farm these items puts you one step ahead in your journey through the Lands Between. Whether you explore every shadowed corner or turn to a trusted Elden Ring items store, the treasures are out there—waiting to be claimed.
