Posted on January 22, 2025

Monster Hunter Wilds, set to release on February 28, 2025, is bringing back several iconic monsters from previous entries, much to the delight of longtime fans. Here’s a look at the confirmed returning monsters:

Yian Kut-Ku

Making its return after nearly seven years, the Yian Kut-Ku is a Bird Wyvern known for its distinctive large ears and beak. Often considered an introductory challenge for hunters, its reappearance is a nod to veteran players.

Congalala

The Congalala, a Fanged Beast resembling a giant ape, is also confirmed to return. Known for its unpredictable behavior and ability to use various elemental attacks by consuming mushrooms, it adds a layer of strategy for hunters.

Rathalos

A staple of the Monster Hunter series, the Rathalos, often dubbed the “King of the Skies,” is back. This Flying Wyvern is renowned for its aerial assaults and fiery breath, posing a formidable challenge.

Gypceros

The Gypceros, a Bird Wyvern known for its flash-inducing crest and poisonous attacks, has been confirmed as well. Its ability to feign death adds an extra layer of complexity to encounters.

Gravios

Making a comeback from the earlier titles, Gravios is a large Flying Wyvern with a rock-hard exterior. Known for its potent heat beam and gas attacks, it requires hunters to strategize carefully to exploit its weaknesses.

These returning monsters not only evoke nostalgia but also promise to test the skills of both new and seasoned hunters. As the release date approaches, fans eagerly anticipate the blend of classic and new challenges that Monster Hunter Wilds will offer.

Monster Hunter Wilds is not just bringing back iconic monsters like Yian Kut-Ku, Congalala, and Rathalos but also introducing an exciting array of Monster Hunter Wilds items to enhance your hunting experience. These items range from improved traps and potent healing potions to new elemental coatings for ranged weapons, allowing hunters to adapt their strategies against returning foes. Additionally, rare materials harvested from returning monsters like Gravios and Gypceros can be used to craft powerful armor sets and weapons, making each hunt both thrilling and rewarding.
